Project Fees

It is free to sign up, post projects, place bids, and discuss the project requirements. Once an awarded freelancer accepts to work on a project, however, we charge a small project fee relative to the value of the selected bid, as an introduction fee.

The cost and how this fee is charged depends on the type of project.

Employers

Hourly projects: a project fee of 2% of the created or In Progress Milestone Payment is charged upon Milestone Payment creation. The fee is refunded automatically if the Milestone Payment is cancelled.

Fixed-price projects: 2% of the winning bid or $2 USD (or its approximate equivalent in other currencies) — whichever is greater — is collected when the awarded freelancer accepts the project. Each subsequent payment to the freelancer in excess of the original bid amount will incur a 2% project fee.

Freelancers

Hourly projects: 5% of the payment released to the freelancer is charged as fee.

Fixed-price projects: 5% of the winning bid or $3 USD (or its approximate equivalent in other currencies) — whichever is greater — is collected when the awarded freelancer accepts the project. Each subsequent payment to the freelancer in excess of the original bid amount will incur a 5% project fee.

Project fees are non-refundable. Refund or adjustment of these fees can only be processed if they were mistakenly charged due to technical issues.
